Dr Mackie has continually prepared for the introduction of new medical technology at Calvary Hospital. With the support of several surgeons operating at the Lenah Valley campus, Calvary Hospital has introduced the Robotic Surgical Assistant (ROSA) knee platform. The ROSA is a newly available surgical aid to assist surgeons with accurate knee replacement implant positioning and soft tissue balancing. Dr Mackie has been utilising Computer Assisted Navigation techniques for more than 8 years in Hobart and has added use of the ROSA technology to his surgery skill-set immediately upon its availability in Hobart. He has continued to advocate for no-gap surgical access to such technology for his patients.
